Drew McMahon earned 11 varsity letters during his career at CHS. McMahon earned 3 letters in football and 4 letters in wrestling and track. In wrestling, he finished with a career record of 132-13 and was a three-time Regional champion, Sectional champion and State qualifier. He finished his senior year with a record of 35-4 and lost to the eventual State champion in the quarterfinals. McMahon set CHS career records for wins (132), pins (63), takedowns (439), near falls (132) and team points (655). In football, McMahon was a 3-year starter, 3-time All-Conference selection on offense and 2-time on defense and an All-Area defensive back, while rushing for a then-school-record 1,413 yards and 21 touchdowns during his senior season. McMahon also earned All-State recognition and played in the East/West Shrine All-Star game. He continued his football career at Illinois earning three letters and played in the Rose Bowl against USC.
