Greg Boysaw (1985)

Greg Boysaw lettered in football, basketball and track as a sophomore and senior (spent his junior year in Chamblee, GA) but was a his best in football. He was named to the News-Gazette All-State team in 1984 as a defensive back, finishing third on the team in tackles from his safety position, but at Central, he did it all. The one thing that stands out about Greg Boysaw is that he was not limited to just offense. What he did when not on offense was amazing: block punts, returned three punts for TDs, intercepted three passes, made key hits and TD-saving tackles, and he even punted. Boysaw played four years at Illinois before signing a free agent contract with the New York Giants, though he spent much of the year on injured reserve. He was the 1985 Seely Johnston Award winner and is now an Indiana State Trooper in Indianapolis. Boysaw's times of 10.4 seconds in the 100m and 21.4 seconds in the 200m are the fastest in school history.
