Jeremy Kruidenier (2003)

Jeremy Kruidenier graduated as one of the premier runners to ever walk the halls of CHS where he earned 10 varsity letters, two in basketball and four each in track and cross country. Kruidenier was a 4-time All-State athlete in track, twice in the 800m, once in the 400m and once in the 3200m relay. As a senior, he was a State Champion in the 800m and the anchor on the 3200m relay team that finished fourth in State. During the 2003 season, he held the State record for the fastest indoor 800m (1:55.69). Kruidenier earned All-American honors by placing third at the Adidas Nation Meet after running 1:51.0 in the 800m, a time that ranked in the top ten in the nation. Kruidenier continued to run track at Illinois and opened his collegiate career by winning the 800m at the SIU Indoor Invite and placed fourth in the LSU Outdoor Relays. As a sophomore he recorded a career-best time of 1:50.44 in the 800m at the Iowa State Classic.
