John Levanti (1970)

John Levanti was a three-year standout in football and track. In track, he was a two-time state qualifier in the discus throw. In football, he was a two-year All-Conference tackle in the Big 12. what Levanti lacked in talent, he more than made up for with his willingness to work. Coach Stewart said, "You will never find a harder worker than John Levanti." Because of his work ethic, Levanti earned a scholarship and became an offensive guard on the University of Illinois football team where he was a 3-year letter winner; he started all 33 games that Illinois played during his varsity career. Levantiís father had an illustrious NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
