Renae Cook Turner (1981)

Renae Cook Turner was a dominant track and field athlete. She is Centralís school record holder in the 100 meter run at 11.9 seconds. She was a member of the 800 meter relay record setting team with a time of 1:42.2 seconds. She is the second fastest female runner in the 200 meter dash at Central with a time of 25.7 seconds. In 1978, she was a member of the stateís seventh place 880 meter relay team and in 1979, the 880 meter relay team finished third in state. She was a multiple Big 12 champion. Cook attended Parkland College where she became a dominant sprinter. She won the 1983 National Junior College indoor 60 meter dash. She was the 1982 and 1983 Conference champion in the 100 meters and 200 meters, and National outdoor 3rd place finisher in the 100 meters.
